While surfing the web...
I came across some pictures of things that reminded me of my childhood. Things we really dont see any more. Got me thinking of the things I miss from my childhood. Here is my list. Feel free to add to it by leaving a comment.
Playing outside till the streetlights came on
Saturday morning Cartoons
Climbing trees, fences and anything else we could climb
Riding bikes without helmets or protective pads
Having parents who were still married
Skates that had 4 wheels
Having Burger King or McDonalds as a treat
Double feature at the movies
Being able to buy chips and a soda with $1
Riding in the back of a pickup truck
Not knowing how the special effects movie tricks were done
Getting a real letter in the mail
Encyclopedias
Spirograph, Click-clack, Slinky, Sock’em boppers
Mad magazine
Typewriters, calculators, Polaroid cameras
Being afraid to curse in front of adults
Not being able to see our school picture till the day they arrived
Mood rings
Dancing in couples at the school dance
A street full of kids on Halloween
Waiting a few years to be able to see a blockbuster movie again
When “Mickey Mouse” products were only sold at Disneyland
Knowing our neighbors
Prank calls
Passing notes at school
Vinyl records
Not knowing the dirt on every politician
Requesting or dedicating a song on the radio
Phone booths
Brand new un-shrunk, un-faded Levi 501 Jeans (Dittos too)

This is a great list! I had a Spirograph and I loved calling radio stations and recording mixes off the radio.
